Christy Sampson-Kelly is, amongst many things, a freelance writer and poet. The fragmenting and erasing of herself she experienced through instances of forced choice in the world outside her childhood home in New York, lead to countless hours of re-writing. It is no wonder her debut poetry collection, reMembering Mulatta, depicts a re-vision of everyday existence amid and beyond our sociopolitical construct of race.
