Glasnevin Cemetery

Shane MacThomáis, writing on behalf of Glasnevin Cemetery, has been the resident historian and tour guide at Glasnevin Cemetery for over twelve years. A second-generation historian, Shane has been involved in the Dublin historical and literary fields for over 15 years. As well as being a television and radio pundit, Shane worked in the James Joyce Centre as its librarian and archivist and was a key member of the hugely successful 1916 Rising Tour. Glasnevin Cemetery is the final resting place for over 1.1 million people. Glasnevin Trust we act as guardian to the stories of these ordinary and extraordinary people who have shaped the Ireland we live in today. Glasnevin Trust is a not for profit organisation, charity number 5849: all proceeds from sales to towards the upkeep of our cemeteries.
