Heather Hansen

Heather Hansen is an award-winning reporter, specializing in environmental and travel journalism. Over the past couple of years, she has focused her writing on natural resource issues affecting the Intermountain West.

Hansen’s work has appeared in High Country News, Men’s Journal, Coastal Living, National Geographic Traveler, Smithsonian, Outside, Mountain Gazette, Away.com, and others. She has been interviewed in print and on the radio and has done book talks and presentations in Boulder, Denver, Boston, San Francisco, and Portland, Oregon.

Hansen is passionate about gathering and telling stories with sharp, engaging narratives. She enjoys weaving together history, ecology, politics, and personalities. And from her days as a Junior Ranger in Cape Cod National Seashore at age seven, she has been a national park junkie.
