Tucker Smallwood served in the U.S. Army Infantry, Airborne from 1967-1970. He commanded a Mobile Advisory Team during the Vietnam War and was severely wounded in action. After recovering from his injuries, Smallwood resigned his commission and moved to New York to study acting.
