Moving to a new house and school is hard for Lucy. Then she finds a family of stray kittens in an alleyway, and doesn't feel quite so lonely. She especially loves the shy black-and-white one, and calls her Catkin. Catkin doesn't like it when the other kittens are taken away. Then Lucy makes her a new home in their greenhouse. But the kitten can't stay there forever. Just how long can Lucy keep Catkin a secret?
