Frankenstein, the Modern Prometheus is a novel written by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelle. It is a combination of science fiction and horror story and has elements of a gothic novel. It has continued to fascinate millions of readers around the globe and this is why it has been adapted into numerous films and shows through the years. There is always a misconception that Frankenstein refers to the creature or monster rather than his actual father or creator named Victor Frankenstein. Victor was a Swiss student of natural science who created a sapient creature from pieces of corpses and brought it to life. He was driven by ambition and later on, it cost him his life. Frankenstein, the Modern Prometheus is considered a landmark work of Romantic and Gothic literature, as well as science fiction.
