J. R. Miller (1840 –1912) was a prolific author and pastor of Presbyterian churches in Pennsylvania and Illinois in the USA. His lasting fame is through his over 50 books, many of them still in publication. In his introduction to "Silent Times", he wrote,
"The title, is suggestive of the need of seasons of quiet in every life that would grow into full, rich beauty. The book is sent out in Christ's name, and with the hope that it may make the way a little plainer for some earnest pilgrims, and religion a little more real, and that it may become a lamp for some dark ways, and a staff for some rough and steep paths."
British narrator, Christopher Glyn's clear and expressive reading brings alive the timeless truths of J.R. Miller's teachings to a modern audience.
