I tightly grabbed a book with a very encouraging title #InsteadofMBA (#ReallifeMba). I thought: "this is the solution of my headache - I will read it, become wiser and won't need MBA course anymore." I was wrong, almost on the first page it was stated that this book is only an addition to the MBA program and it cannot replace it. I was upset, but anyway finished reading and it was worth it!

Firstly, it is very interesting to communicate through the book with the author Jack Welch - the legendary manager of the 20th century, genious leader of General Electric and his great wife Suzy Welch the former chief editor of Harvard Business Review.

Secondly, there is a lot of insight in it precisely from the point of view of Top Management: the way they make decisions, evaluate employees, what their views on business processes are and what general picture they want to see. Thanks to this book, now I better understand managers and their logic in making certain decisions. It was the main advantage taken from this book.

Thirdly, book is full of real-life examples and opinions of representatives of real world companies. For example, as a financier, I was hooked by the phrase of the founder of the Polaroid company: “Marketing is what you do when your product is not so good.” The authors of the book, relying on their experience, altered this phrase like this: "Marketing is what you do AFTER you have created a good product." I think both versions have a right to be :)
